The day started this morning very disappointing, when a group of no less than 7 anglers did not show up.
After some consultation with the 3 other anglers, Klaas Westerhof, Eric Pos and his son Chris, it was decided to divide the boat costs among themselves.
Fortunately, this turned out to be the right decision.
At around 12.30 pm it was Eric's rod who had a bite of a Blue Marlin.
Son Cris was now allowed to do this job.
Unfortunately this marlin gave up after 5 minutes. After a few nice jumps the fish spit out the hook again and disappeared back into the depth.
Barely recovered from the shock, they hooked up again.
And again it were two fishing rods from Eric.
It was now father and son who were allowed to show their powers at the same time.
Eric came out victorious and managed to catch his Bigeye tuna within 30 minutes.
It took Chris 30 minutes longer, knowing his fish had been hooked incorrectly.
All in all, a beautiful and exciting fishing day with 2 beautiful large, estimated 90 kg heavy, tuna.
