26.5 KG Wahoo
Today we could welcome again, on board the Cavalier, our German friends and clients Linda and Werner Völler from Germany.
Also our regular Dutch visitor Peter Zeestraten , sometimes better known as Peter Heineken, was present today.
Together, they had chartered the boat CAVALIER.
At 9.45 A.M they hooked in with a Wahoo, but after a strong run the fish was quickly disappeared.
A half hour later they hooked up again with another Wahoo. The fish had taken the lure of Linda's rod.
It was a lovely start to her first day and soon she had a 26.5 kilo wahoo in the boat.
The crew and guests decided at 12.30 P.M to try the fishing on deeper water for maybe..............?
14.00 P.M. It was the line of a 80 lb rod, which with a tremendous force, was pulled out of the outrigger clip.
The sound of the broken rubber band was quickly followed by the screeching sound of the Shimano reel.
The 1st Blue Marlin of 2011 was there! Whoooow what a powerfull fish.
It was the rod of Peter, who was sitting in less then 10 seconds in the fighting chair.
After a run of about 25 meters, suddenly silenced the sound of the expiring reel.
The Marlin had spit out the hook again and was lost....
Shit, shit.......what a bad luck.........
We saw the Blue Marlin, estimated by the crew at 150 to 180 pounds, another minute swimming behind our lures, but unfortunately she did not take any action more.
So we caught today's Linda's 26.5 kilo Wahoo and missed another 2 opportunities.
Tomorrow we have another day!
Hans
