30 KG SPEARFISH
We had on both boats today, trips with plenty action and........ fish!
The EXPLORAMAR was chartered by the Danish sport fisherman James Rasmussen.
James, since many years a very good friend and client of Blue Marlin Charters, started today with his 1st of 4 booked fishing trips.
It became a fishing trip with plenty of action.
We saw during James his trip, 5 White (spearfishes) and 2 Blue Marlins.
At 10.30 a.m James went for the first time in the fighting chair.
It was a White Marlin which had taken the lure.
Unfortunately, because after a 30 meter run, this fish spit the hook out.
Also a hook up with a Blue Marlin was lost.
This fish came on the lure of the center rigger, took a 150 meter run and starts jumping.
Unfortunately, beacuse also this Blue stayed only 3 minutes on.
Very bad luck James.
James caught on this first day a few small Skipjacks and one Dorado.
On the afternoon trip the EXPLORAMAR was booked as one of their famous Part Charters.
On board Bob Challis with his son Jack and Morgan Laidan with his wife.
Also these 4 fishermen saw some Spearfishes and White Marlins behind their lures, but also they hadn't the luck to catch one of these beauties.
The CAVALIER was yesterday and today chartered for a 9 hour trip by the Finnish angler Juha Rahkonen and 2 of his friends.
Ruha, who exploits near Helsinki also a sport fishing boat(www.dreamfish.fi), came to Gran Canaria to try his luck in the Canarian waters.
They caught yesterday, on their 1st trip, some Skipjack Tunas and one Dorado.
Also today, Skipjacks, Dorado's and a good sized Spearfish.
Also these Finnish clients had today different Spearfishes behind the lures.
They hooked in with 3 of these fishes, but lost them all.
Spearfish number 4 has been caught and released by Juha.
This fish was estimated by crew Hafid and Abraham on a weight of 30 kilos.
