Today we had again, in the south of Gran Canaria, a great day of fishing, with plenty of activity .
The Blue Marlin 3 was this morning on the way to the Puerto Rico reef, when they received a message on the board radio, that some professional boats were catching lots of Albacores.
Some of these boats had even 30 and more on board .
On the way to the school of tuna they had suddenly a strike on one of the 50lb rods .
But not from an Albacore but an estimated 200 pounds Blue Marlin . Woooooowwwwww ! !
The angler tried to catch his fish stand-up but unfortunately he lost the marlin after a 35 minutes fight.
Bad luck, it was nearly the second marlin in this first november week
When the boat found the school with Albacores they had a double strike.
A 22 kilo fish was brought aboard and the second was unfortunately lost.
Also one of the other sport fishing boats returned today in the harbour with 2 Albacores.
The Cavalier was today anchored on the reef of Rosario and unfortunately too far away to reach the school with Albacores.
On board again today some familiar faces including Freek Morees from Holland and the Danish angler Christian Arbild .
Christian caught on this trip some Amberjacks and Red Snappers .
Also Peter Fredriksson from Sweden caught with the jig some nice fish
I wonder what will happen tomorrow
Hans
