Yesterday I could publish in our Canaria Fishing News the catch and release of the 1st Blue Marlin 2015.
Today I can announce proudly that now also number 2 is captured.
It started quite early this morning on the boat Cavalier.
The lures were barely in the water when the crew found already a school with hunting Skipjacks.
Petra van Ieperen and Edwin Woudenberg from Holland, were the two fishermen which were as first allowed to show their fish experience.
Edwin, yesterday also not the luckiest angler aboard, lost unfortunately also this fish.
Petra landed after 5 minutes the first fish of this fishing trip.
Moments later, crew and anglers on board saw a big school Dorado's behind the lures.
Yesssssssss, hook-up and.......... two of these gorgeous blue/green beauties were ours !
The English Denise and Swedish Christina Johansson managed each to capture one of these more or less 10 kg Dorado's.
But it was even more exciting at 13 p.m.
At that time, the fishermen on board were startled by a bite on one of the outriggers!
The rod belonged to Klaas Westerhof, a Dutch fisherman which already over 20 years a regular client is on the fishing boats in the South of Gran Canaria.
Klaas, no more our youngest fisherman on board, needed about 90 minutes to fish his Blue Marlin behind the deck of the boat.
It was for the crew of the Cavalier their 1st Blue Marlin of 2015.
The fish was estimated at about 250 kilos and this was, after taking some pictures, of course neatly released.
I want Klaas and of course the crew of the Cavalier congratulate with this great fishing day.
