Because the fishing on the deep reef is a liitle slow during the last days decided the crew of the Cavalier to fish this morning with their clients on the shallow reef
They fished with some fishing rods against the sloping embankment , the ideal living and hunting area of the rays.
Just above this 20 to 25 meters reef are the Barracuda's hunting and slightly higher we can find the North Atlantic Bonito's.
Both species, the Barracudas as the Bonito's, doing great on live bait , but also a nice fresh strip of mackerel is great.
We were successful today . All three above species
An Eagle and a nice big Butterfly Ray were caught by the Danish angler Christian Pihl
Also Freek Morees from Holland caught a large Common Stingray .
But the heaviest Stingray this morning has been hooked up by Fredrik Hjort from Sweden . He needed 50 minutes to bring his `whopler` on board of the boat.
All these rays are released.
But also the Barracudas and Atlantic Bonito's , or " Sierras as these species are also named , did very well today.
There were caught this morning three of each specie.
Truly a great sport fish for the lighter rods .
So we enjoyed a good day of fishing with happy faces for all the anglers aboard the Cavalier .
