SAIL FISH
Yes you read it right SAIL FISH !!!
The boat CAVALIER was chartered this morning by Jaap Kloos from Holland.
They left the harbor of Puerto Rico at 9 am and went first to Arguineguin to pick up a box with fresh sardines from the commercial boats.
Only 500 meters outside of the harbor of Arguineguin, at a depth of 10 meters, the crew and anglers on board couldn't believe their own eyes.
It was a Sailfish chasing behind a school of baitfish.
The Sailfish jumped several times and we were 100% sure that this fish wasn't a Spearfish.
We tried different sizes/colors of lures and of course also our fresh sardines, but the Sailfish was unfortunately not interested.
Bad luck, but we will never forget these beautiful jumps.
Jaap caught with our fresh sardines,on the Pasito Blanco reef, a good sized Butterfly ray and 2 Angel sharks.
Unfortunately that we lost a Wahoo.
The heaviest fish on the boat EXPLORAMAR was today a Red Snapper of 29 lbs.
