Tonight on TV - Ghost and Fish Vampires

If you don’t think fish can give you a fright, watch Animal Planet’s Halloween special “River Monsters: Worst Nightmares.”

In the episode, tonight 29/10, extreme angler Jeremy Wade travels to spooky places with creepy creatures and makes you happy you’re watching at home.
The eight eerie freshwater-dwellers include India’s Goonch, Brazil’s Red-Bellied Piranha and the Goliath Tigerfish from The Republic of Congo.

Wade investigates the Goonch, known for feeding on human corpses, but these killer catfish may have also developed a taste for those still alive on the Ramganga River.

Goonch can weigh over 250 pounds and grow to 6-and-a-half feet long. The one Wade catches on Tuesday’s show is a whopping 161 pounds.

Modal Trigger Wade also goes to Brazil in search of a fish the locals call “The Face Ripper.”
There, in the Amazon River, he encounters the Red-Bellied Piranha, which has the reputation for being one of the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world.

But the fish that scares Wade the most is the Goliath Tigerfish, which can grow up to 5 feet long and weigh around 154 pounds. It took Wade 20 years to find one close to that size.

It’s the only fish that doesn’t fear crocodiles, perhaps because it will eat small crocs —using its 32 razor-sharp teeth that can each measure about an inch long.

“River Monsters: Worst Nightmares premieres Tuesday night at 10 p.m.
You might never go into the water again.
