65 LBS LONGBILL SPEARFISH
From the 5 sport fishing boats, which daily sailing with fishermen from harbour Base in Puerto Rico, is in the Big Game Season of 2011, the CAVALIER again the leading boat with the most billfish being caught (marlin and spearfish.
Also today, there has been tagged and released again a nice 30 pounds in Spearfish.
The CAVALIER left this morning harbour Base at 9 am with, 4 Dutch, 2 English and 2 German anglers.
The first hours of the trip were very quiet but the guests onboard were happy and enjoyed the show from the jumping and playing dolphins and the plenty fly fishes.
Just after noon, the crew found a large school with small Skipjacks and some of the anglers enjoyed to catch them with light rods.
After another 30 minutes trolling we hooked in with 2 Spearfishes.
Both fishes were hooked on a 50 lbs rod and on small Skipjack lures.
Unfortunately we lost the 1st Spearfish during the drill but the 2nd has fortunately been caught by the German angler Benjamin Buchmann.
Benjamin fished today his last of 4 trips with us and he was very happy that he was the luckiest fisherman on this trip.
After the photo session we released the Longbill Spearfish again.
Bejamins` Spearfish was estimated by the crew at a weight of 65 pounds.
Congratulations for the crew Abraham and Hafid and of course also angler Benjamin!
