BIGEYE TUNA
It was today the last fishing day for Connie and Ben, Klaas, Paul and Mark.
Would it today then still be possible to catch a Blue Marlin or big Tuna ?
Full of courage came the anglers this morning at 9 o`clock aboard the boat Cavalier.
The lines were only 5 minutes into the water when already two of the lighter rods hooked up.
Klaas and Ben were the lucky anglers and both caught an Atlantic Bonito.
Unfortunately, we lost the school with bonito's and this day seemed to be like the previous ones.
At 13:00 the crew located lots of feeding birds, so maybe....????
At 13.30 p.m we had a strike on the center rod.
A giant fish had taken the lure on Ben his rod and a few seconds later he was sitting
in the fighting chair.
While the line, with a screaming sound, was pulled of Ben's reel , the other fishermen brought the lines in from the other rods.
Initially thought the crew that it was a Blue Marlin but when the fish went to the depth it was soon clear that it was going to be a giant tuna.
Ben needed exactly 45 minutes to bring this strong fighter behind the boat.
It was a large Bigeye Tuna whith a weight of 105 kilos.
I would like to thank again, Connie and Ben Seldenthuis, Mark Walraven, Paul Dompeling and Klaas Doorenbosch for the wonderful week we had together.
In particular course go today all congratulations to Ben.
