Cavalier wins Corona Cup 2020

Nervous anglers this morning on the boats Cavalier and Fish On who fished today the 3rd and also last day for the Corona Cup 2020.

After Klaas` good catches yesterday, the courage was good again. The catch of a Blue Marlin [500 pts] today could even be very decisive for the final price.
The Cavalier is currently leading with 60pt. The Fish On, on the other hand, is still at 0 pts.

9:00 am. The boats Cavalier and Fish On start their 3rd and last fishing day with the aim of conquering the 1st Corona Cup.

10.15 am. After more than an hour of fishing it was the Fish On this morning which reported a hook-up of a Blue Marlin.
I myself fished with Klaas Westerhof on this boat and saw how an estimated 400 lb fish twice took the lure, but also released it after a long jump.
Very sorry Klaas.

11.15 it is Klaas again on the Fish On which has a trigger. White or Blue is unknown? Grrr * & # @ - "= <- @.

11.45 am. Fish On has a large school of skipjack tuna, lots of hunting seagulls, a large whale and again a hunting Blue Marlin next to the boat. Unfortunately, no bite.

11.50 am. Cavalier reports a hook up. Jos van Loo fights in the chair

11.55 am. Fish On has the 3rd bite of a Blue Marlin. After a run of more than 50 meters, it also manages to break free again.

12.25 pm. Cavalier reports the release of an estimated 300lb Blue Marlin. Eric Pos and Jos van Loo come to 560 pts, which makes it very difficult for Klaas to win this cup.

Quiet...................

3 pm. Both boats are now in port and the battle is over. The winner of the 1st Corona Cup became the boat Cavalier, together with anglers Erc Pos and Jos van Loo.

It were 3 match days full of excitement with the catch of a Blue Marlin as a conclusion.
Congratulations once again to the crew of the Cavalier and his anglers with this beautiful result.

Next July 2021 there will be fought again, but then for the 2nd Corona Cup.

The next Corona Cup will be fished on September 9 and 11, 2021.

Tonight at 8 p.m. the Corona Cup 2020 will be presented during a farewell dinner at Grill Costa Mar restaurant in Puerto Rico harbor.
