Portuguese Man of War
Portuguese Man of War

When I walked last week with my dog along the coast I saw they swimming/floating.
I`m talking about the Portuguese Warship.
And the professional fishermen and avid anglers among us know what this means.
The Portuguese man o` war (Physalia physalis), also known as the Portuguese man-of-war, man-of-war, or bluebottle, though often mistaken as a jellyfish, is a marine cnidarian of the family Physaliidae. Its venomous tentacles can deliver a painful sting.
Despite its outward appearance, the Portuguese man o` war is not a jellyfish but a siphonophore, which differs from jellyfish in that it is not actually a single multicellular organism but a colonial organism made up of many highly specialized minute individuals called zooids.[1] These zooids are attached to one another and physiologically integrated to the extent that they are incapable of independent survival.
If I tell you that these jellyfish / polyp is the favorite food of our tuna, swordfish and turtles then every fisherman knows what this could mean.
Hopefully I can write the coming days/weeks about great tuna catches.
You never know?
