The Bluefin Tuna

The bluefin tuna is a powerhouse which you cann't compare with any other fish.
This very strong tuna easily fetches speeds of over 80 kilometers per hour .
The bluefin is only swimming and NEVER stops ! ! !
Knowing that these fighters can easily be 20 or 30 years old says enough .
The fight with a bluefin tuna takes about 1 to 4 hours , and again this is only because the fish does not take one second of rest and fights till his death.
Do you want to release this fish , which is currently mandatory in European waters, should be handled quickly and professionally .
If you hold the fish only one minute too long besides of your boat, it can be fatal.
That it is very difficult to catch a bluefin tuna prove the catch reports of last week here in the south of Gran Canaria .
4 to 7 miles outside of the coast we find the large schools with bluefin tunas.
Many hundreds of tunas eating thousands of little mackerels and sardines.
Many fishing boats have tried to find their luck this week but it was only the Fishon, a private boat from the port of Pasito Blanco, which after a struggle of several hours an estimated 250 -pound bluefin managed to catch and release..
Several fishing boats, including today the Blue Marlin 3 , raised lots of bluefins and missed hook-ups with these strong and clever fish !
Also fishing with live bait has been tried by many fishing boats , to try to seduce these brawlers.
But we go on and maybe next week its our turn to fight one of these monsters ?
Just seeing the huge schools of these sea monsters hunting continues to look good for every angler in his memory .
Enjoy your weekend and good catch.
